Every afternoon, as we play outside, I always mimic the voices that I heard on the radio and thinking how a small radio possesses a lot of people inside. Another is when my parents watch news at night, it always catches my attention about the movements or switching of the camera from one place to another as a report goes from one person to another as well. Now, my heart is very overwhelmed that I have the chance to visit and have a privilege to undergo a radio or television exposure training in my locality.

As what I stated above about our exposure training, of course I need to be prepared enough to deliver an excellent performance to everyone. I feel nervous and excited at the same time. I am also scared but I believe in myself that I can because I also have some personal skills and perceived skills that I want to apply and improve. First is being flexible to whom should I talk with and I must say that I can also rely on my social skills. I am also good at hiding my emotions behind the smile and the energy that I need to pass on to the audiences. One of my advantages that I can use in this coming training is that my skill level on talking to different people at different ages that I gain as I work on my part time job. I am also giving my best to be prepared and proactive on everything about anything that might happen before, during and after the show or program if ever.

As I look forward for this opportunity, I have some expectations that I set for myself and to the activity itself. For myself, I am expecting to build up more confidence and trust to myself because I think being a media personality needs to have a courage and strong personality to be able to let his/her audiences trust everything that he or she is reporting. In the other hand, I expect to the upcoming project that it could help me learn and improve the knowledge that I need to know especially the basics such as the proper posture that I must possess when facing the camera and proper voice articulation when talking to my listeners.

Back when I was still young, I am always curious about the life behind the camera. I always think how they move the scene, the set or anything else that is portrayed in the television and the different voices and advertisements that was coming from the radio. And now, I am so delighted and thrilled upon taking this “One Big Step”!
